6 Great Kick Combos
—Two consecutive same kicks. Here, you deliver any type of kick and follow it up with the same type of kick. For example, you execute a roundhouse kick and follow it up again with a roundhouse kick. The first kick may be at midsection while the second one may be at the high section.
—Two consecutive alternate leg same kicks. This is a variation of two consecutive same kicks. Here, you deliver any type of kick with one leg and follow it up with the same type of kick, but with the other leg. For example, you can execute a front kick with the left leg and follow it up with a front kick with the right leg. Initially, both kicks can be executed at the same height, but with practice, you can deliver both kicks with each having a different height.
—Front kick combined with Roundhouse kick. Here, you deliver a front kick and then follow it up with a roundhouse kick. The front kick can be low, mid, or high, depending upon how your training partner holds the kicking shield. Your training partner keeps the kicking shields at different heights without your knowledge, so that you can instantly execute low, mid, or high kick. This practice improves your reflexes. Thereafter, you perform a roundhouse kick, which is generally to the midsection; however, it can be at any height that you want to practice.
—Teep kick combined with High kick. Here, you deliver a teep kick and then follow it up with a high kick. A teep kick is a front kick with a slight difference. In a front kick, you use the ball of your foot to strike the opponent, while in a teep kick you use the sole of your foot to push the opponent. A teep kick is mostly performed in Muay Thai, but it can be executed by any martial artist practicing any martial art. The teep kick will push the kicking shield away and use that distance to deliver a high kick to the head.
—Side kick combined with Back kick. Here, you deliver a side kick and then follow it up with a back kick. The side kick is generally at midsection and some distance will also be created after hitting the kicking shield. Use that distance to pivot fast and execute a powerful back kick at the mid or high section.
—Low kick combined with Spinning Hook kick. Here, you deliver a low kick and then follow it up with a spinning hook kick. The low kick should be aimed low as if to strike the legs, and in that same momentum perform a spin and deliver a hook kick to the mid or high section.

In all types of individual kicks and combo kicks, your training partner will move the kicking shield accordingly. Get feedback from your training partner, to know the force of your kicks. With Pacific Sports kicking shields, most of the force will be absorbed by the super padding material, so that your partner is not hurt in the slightest bit. Therefore, go all out and strike the kicking shield with your full force.
Enhance your striking prowess
To enhance your striking prowess, you can practice both kicking and punching together. Pacific Sports multipurpose pads are used for both; however, you can also use paddles, focus pads, and focus mitts. Your training partner can hold two paddles, with one held in each hand. Alternatively, one hand can hold a paddle to practice only kicks, and the other hand can hold a focus pad or a focus mitt, to practice only punches.
