Few knockout kicks to practice with kicking shields

Any type of kick, if done correctly and if it hits the head area with sufficient force, can result in a knockout. With kicking shields, you can practice the following knockout kicks.

—Front Kick: Simple, straightforward and effective. Drive your knee up and snap your leg straight into the kicking shield. One kick to the chin is enough for a knockout.
—Side Kick: Chamber your knee to your chest, while pivoting on your supporting foot, and thrust the knife-edge of the foot into the shield. The knife-edge can strike at the philtrum, or the heel can be thrust into the solar plexus. Both can result in a knockout.
—Hook Kick: Bring your leg up like a side kick, pivot on your supporting leg about 180 degrees and snap the lead leg around in a circular motion, hitting with your heel. If the heel hits the temple with sufficient force, it can result in a knockout. A variation is a spinning hook kick, which can also be practiced with the kicking shield.
—Roundhouse Kick: Swing the leg around and hit the kicking shield. A hit to the temple is a certain knockout. This is the most common kick and can easily be perfected with a kicking shield.
—Axe Kick: Raise your leg high and bring it down onto the shield in a chopping motion like an axe. If the heel of your foot lands forcefully on the top of the skull of your opponent, it can result in a shattering knockout. This kick uses gravity; therefore, it is most effective on a shorter opponent.

However, remember if the kicking technique is incorrect, then you will most likely injure your own leg. Try to perfect the technique before going for accuracy, speed and power.

You can improve your accuracy by practicing kicking Pacific Sports paddles.
