If you are practicing no-gi, then obviously you need a rash guard coupled with shorts or spats. However, even if you are wearing a gi, then also you need a rash guard, more so if you are into BJJ or Jujutsu. The main benefit of a rash guard is, as the name signifies, it acts as a guard against rashes, and not only rashes but also against bruises, nicks, cuts and infections. Pacific Sports offers high quality rash guards, in both short sleeves and long sleeves varieties, so that you can undergo intensive training sessions without any worry of getting infected.
A rash guard is like a protective layer over your skin, so that your skin does not open up in a rash. If your skin opens up, it can lead to bacteria coming in and infect the skin opening. An infected skin can sometimes be painful, and it takes time to heal, which means that you lose several days of practice. With a gi or no-gi, you always need a rash guard to protect yourself from infections.

Rash guard for Gi and No-gi
—For both no-gi or with gi, wearing a rash guard is to avoid any infections from the mat, training equipment, or from your grappling partner.
—Besides infections, a rash guard also keeps the body warm, wicks away sweat and provides a 4-way stretch as it is made from a blend of polyester with spandex or nylon. In cooler environments, Pacific Sports rash guards help your body to keep warm, while in hot environments, as it wicks away the sweat, it helps your body to stay cool. Pacific Sports rash guards will help to regulate your body temperature so that you always feel comfortable.
—For throwing moves, the collar or the sleeve of the gi may be grabbed and pulled. In such a case, the jacket of a gi gets easily undone. Therefore, it is suitable for women martial artists to wear a rash guard under a gi. However, both women and men should wear a rash guard under a gi, so that all the benefits of a rash guard can be availed. Moreover, a silicone rubber banding at the waist ensures that it will not ride up or become ill-fitting during training. Pacific Sports rash guards will make you feel comfortable in all situations.
—You don’t have to go on buying rash guards, simply because they tear when stretched. Pacific Sports rash guards are so made that they do not tear at pressure point areas even when stretched greatly. The fabric of Pacific Sports rash guard is mixed with spandex, which provides great stretchability and easily provides full range of motion.
—Form-fitting rash guards provide a snug fit, which gives a mild to moderate compression on the skin. The compression improves blood circulation so that your muscles get all oxygen it needs during high-energy workouts. Post-workout it also helps the fatigued muscles to recover faster by suppling the required amount of oxygen.
—Pacific Sports rash guards are versatile as you can wear it as a training top for a no-gi session, or even wear it under a gi. They are also lightweight, colourful and stylish. The design is sublimated so that it does not fade or peel away. The fabric is a blend of polyester and Spandex, which makes it extremely durable and will last a very long time.
Form-fitting or Loose-fitting?
A rash guard acts like a “second skin” if it is form-fitting. With a loose fit or a flexible fit, it fits a bit loose than a form-fitting rash guard, but a little tight than a regular T-shirt. Buy your exact size for a form-fitting rash guard and one size more for a loose-fitting rash guard. Generally, every training session is intensive and thus, a form-fitting rash guard is ideal; however, sometimes if the training session is a bit relaxed, then you can also wear a loose-fitting rash guard.
Short sleeves or Long sleeves?
With long sleeves more protection of the arm is obtained; however, short sleeves rash guards are also very much popular. Both can be worn as per your individual preference. With Pacific Sports rash guards, which come in both short sleeves and long sleeves, you can simply focus on improving your movements without being bothered about skin rashes/ lacerations/ abrasions/ bruises/ cuts, or mat burns, or any type of skin infections.
