Material
Pacific Sports gi are made from canvas, cotton, or poly/cotton. These materials provide comfort and durability, while allowing the skin to breathe so that your body does not overheat during intensive practice sessions.
Weight
The gi comes from 8oz to 18 oz weights featuring light-weight, medium-weight, and heavy-weight gis, which are suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. You can choose any weight depending upon your preference for a perfect gi.
Fit
The gi should fit you perfectly and should not be too tight or too loose. If the gi is too loose than the material will come in the way of movement, while if it is too tight then full range of motion will be restricted.
Design
In all European countries, the design of the gi is a European cut, which has longer jacket sleeves, and longer pant lengths. Logos, badges, and other material may be printed or sewed upon the gi as per the requirements of the martial arts school.
Stitching
The stitching is reinforced with multiple lines of stitching at high-stress areas like the collar and lapels, so that it resists tearing. BJJ gi has multiple lines of stitching at the shoulders and knees. Reinforced stitching ensures that the gi can withstand rigorous training and intensive sparring.
Colour
The traditional colour of a perfect gi is white. However, sometimes black, blue, or red may also be worn, as per your preference. The colours of Pacific Sports gi are resistant to fading. It is recommended to ask your instructor regarding which colour of gi should you wear.
Maintenance
The gi is easy to maintain. Pacific Sports gi can be machine washed or hand washed, as per your choice. Pre-shrunk gi are made with fabric that has already undergone shrinkage, and with non-pre-shrunk gi, a shrinkage allowance is already given, so in both the cases, you can buy your regular size without worrying about fabric shrinkage.
